Visits and Outings
I take children in my care to outing such as: to the local swimming pool or local drop-in centres. I will always ask for consent from parents before taking the children on these outings.
Local Parks
There are two local parks within walking distance, both of which have a children’s play area.
Garden
I have a fully enclosed garden, which children can use for outdoor play in the summer. I have a children’s paddling pool and sand pit for play in warm weather.
Kitchen
My kitchen has an eating area, which is also use for painting and other activities where the children can create a mess. I provide overalls so that their clothes are protected.
Books
I have a range of books for all ages and encourage all children to spend time reading.

TV/Video
I believe in stimulating children with play and activities and do not believe in sitting them in front of the television for long periods. However, the children in my care can watch television (children’s videos or children’s channels with no advertisements) for half an hour after their tea, whilst waiting for you to collect them, or if they are feeling unwell.
Pets
We have a very friendly West Highland Terrier called Ollie who loves children. I believe it is important that children interact with animals at a young age.
Music
I have various fun educational compact disks for the children to listen to whilst they are playing.
First Aid
I am qualified in First aid. I will request written consent for any medicines that may be required.
Sleeping area
I have a separate sleeping area for children who are tired of feeling unwell; I have a baby monitor to check them whilst sleeping.
